The excitement that follows a new great book is wonderfully contagious, but as all book lovers know, it means the library copy won't be easy to come by. In fact, it might be just about impossible: Nevada County Library hold lists that stretch as long as forty people are not unheard of!
The Truckee Library Bestseller's Program, paid for by the Friends, is our answer. We purchase and maintain a small collection of current bestsellers that can only be obtained by walking in and asking for them. Not only does that mean that borrowers at the larger branches in Nevada City and Grass Valley won't be whisking them away, but also that the line for any book is never more than one reader long! Sure, we may not have the one you're looking for on any given day, but a little persistence is bound to pay off.
