Join the Friends of the Truckee Library for a special evening with guest speaker Susan Hildreth, national library leader, to envision a new library for Truckee. This event is a fundraiser for Friends of the Truckee Library.

Join us on Saturday, October 21 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Donner Memorial State Park Emigrant Trail Museum. Drinks, hors d'oeuvres and museum tour from 5:30-6:30, followed by a presentation from guest speaker Susan Hildreth on the changing role of libraries and a discussion on the vision of a new library for Truckee.

About Susan Hildreth:
Susan Hildreth, a national library authority, will provide cutting edge information on the changing role of libraries in communities across the country. Appointed Director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services from 2011-2015 by President Obama, Hildreth oversaw a $250 million annual budget. She was also Gov. Schwarzenegger's appointee as California State Librarian. Hildreth currently serves as Gates-funded Distinguished Practitioner in Residence at the University of Washington Information Schools and is an Aspen Fellow in the Dialogue on the Future of Public Libraries.
